  • Appropriately challenge unhelpful beliefs
  • Build assertive communication skills
  • Build awareness of their vulnerabilities
  • Support healthy decision making regarding friendships & relationships
  • Enable young people to identify their needs, express them, appropriately engage & make the most out of the support services available
  • Build work readiness

Typical outcomes include young people:

  • Changing their aspirations, attitudes, thinking and behaviour
  • Building a positive outlook for their lives & their future
  • Reducing risky, anti-social & criminal behaviour
  • Reducing substance misuse
  • Stabilising mental health
  • Resolving education, employment & accommodation issues
  • Fully engaging with services e.g. probation, drug & alcohol, community mental health, housing, voluntary sector & social services

"You are the first person to talk to me like an adult and ask me what I want."

"I feel comfortable here. I feel like you get me, you listen and you really help me."

"It's takes me a long time to trust people but I can talk to you. You really help me sort my head out, this stuff really helps. I can now risk assess for myself every day and then work out what I can deal with on that day."
